Dr. Andrea Adams is a certified trainer and coach with more than 15 years of experience in doctoral training. She supports doctoral researchers with academic writing and professional development and works at TU Berlin’s Center for Junior Scholars.

Many doctoral and postdoctoral researchers are interested in an academic career because of the intellectual freedom, autonomy, and opportunities for discovery it offers. At the same time, academic career paths in Germany can seem complex, competitive, and difficult to plan.

What participants will do

Participants will gain an overview of academic career paths and professorships in Germany. They will explore success factors for an academic career and reflect on their own academic portfolio.
