Meeting with leading AI experts
The tour included meetings with well-known AI experts at various renowned institutions. At the ETH ZürichProf. Konrad Schindler shared his insights on how to use AI to carry out environmental mapping. Rafael Wampfler explained the technology behind Project Einstein and how AI can be applied to environmental science.
At the Disney Research Studios in Zurich, Bob Sumner presented the application of AI in film production and gave our members an overview of how AI technologies can be used in creative industries.
Research approaches were presented
The lectures at IBM Research in Zurich showed different perspectives and areas of application of AI. Cristiano Malossi, Anika Schumann, S. Karthik Mukkavilli and Lokesh Mishra presented their research projects and discussed the possible consequences of AI for future developments.
The ETH AI Center focused its discussion on entrepreneurship in the field of AI. Viviana Gropengiesser explained the career opportunities for young AI scientists and discussed the potential and challenges of AI-based companies.
The AI+X Summit offered startups a platform to present their AI projects and workshops and presentations provided insights into the latest developments and career opportunities in the field of AI.
Objectives and findings of the tour
The goal of the trip was to collect information about the AI system in Zurich, establish academic collaborations and discover opportunities for PhD exchange programs. Members were particularly enriched by gaining insights into current research topics and building valuable relationships.

In summary, the tour to research artificial intelligence and innovation in Zurich was a great success and gave all participants the chance to take their research to a higher level. The tour not only offered an insight into current research, but also valuable contacts and contacts. Through these contacts, some of our members were even able to get an internship at IBM Research.
