In conversations with leading Swedish AI experts from universities, research centers and industry, they experienced the inspiring pulse of the latest AI research in Sweden.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Participants and goals of the trip<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The participants included Jan-David St\u00fctz, Brian Dietermann, Jan Thomas Jung, Dren Fazlija, Hassan Hussein, Phillip Schneider, Vlad Nechakhin, Izabel Cvetkovic, Hailay Teklehaimanot, Richard Bergs, Michaela Vystr\u010dilov\u00e1, Marco Huber, Thomas Kr\u00f6ger, Wadhah Za El Amri , Philip Bilfinger, Esas Shakeel Khan, Nico Heider and Haithem Amrani. The aim of the trip was to visit research centers, universities and digital transformation labs and share knowledge with like-minded people on site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">First stop: Digital Futures and Speed \u200b\u200bDating<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The first stop on the trip led to fruitful discussions between the members of the AI \u200b\u200bGrid and the PhD students from Digital Futures. A speed dating session enabled the young researchers to present their research and make initial contacts. Interdisciplinary work led to a very productive exchange.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Second stop: German-Swedish Chamber of Commerce<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>At a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.handelskammer.se\/de\/nyheter\/stockholm-ist-einer-der-hotspots-fuer-ki-europa\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Meeting with the German-Swedish Chamber of Commerce<\/a>&nbsp;the participants received an informative insight into the Swedish economic landscape and its comparison with Germany, Sweden's most important trading partner in Europe. Roundtables brought together Swedish companies, WASP program students and AI Grid members to discuss topics such as mobility &amp; AI, medicine &amp; AI and robotics &amp; AI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Second day: Stimulating discussions and presentations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The second day began with an open discussion about a researcher's journey from academia to leading a generative modeling team at a gaming company. A special thank you went to Judith B\u00fctepage for this inspiring exchange.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ambitious and exciting applied AI research projects with the RISE Research Institutes of Sweden were then presented. The focus was on the use of AI for resource-efficient fashion or the management of ship flows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Insights into Sweden's AI and innovation strategy<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, participants received an insight into Sweden's AI and innovation strategy, which is characterized by a vibrant and diverse ecosystem of academics, companies, start-ups and the public sector.
